This is Max. He is a 6-year-old darling guy. His owner was a young woman who adored him but is working full time and has gone back to school. She felt it just wasn’t fair for him to be alone for 12 hours a day.

He is healthy, loving, affectionate and loves to play ball.

Scout is an 18 month old male golden mix. He is short, maybe about 40 pounds. Not sure what is othe part mix be but he looks like a little red Golden.

He was found abandoned at a dog park and came to me pretty much in a *raw* state. I am assuming someone just kept him the back yard. He is now housebroken and crate trained. He is very quick to learn things. He LOVES clicker training.

This little guy has a LOT of energy which means he needs a lot of exercise 🙂
He will do well in a home where someone can take him running. He is also agile, LOL. This morning, I found him climbing in the Junniper so he could look in the window.

He is very affectionate and loves people. I won’t put him with cats or small dogs. Basically he is a dog with a lot of potential and with training will be fantastic.

Lacey is an 8 year old female with an incredible story. I an email from Ed Goodman at Tootsie’s Vision about this dog. She had been kept chained outside her whole life. Then the owners moved away and left her chained up. A neighbor got her and called Ed. Met Ed at the vet. The dog is totally wonderful. We got her eyes checked and her health assessed. Gave her shots and a chip.

She has some visual impairment, doesn’t see well at night, but is totally fine during the day. She is sweet, funny, loving and GRATEFUL. This is a darling dog. Gets along with other dogs although she does let them know she doesn’t dogs in her face. As you see, you got her groomed and she looks fabulous. This is a wonderful girl.

Tobey has come up from Calsbad. He is darling. He loves other dogs, loves people and thinks he has died and gone to heaven for being in a family.

He has a white face but we think he is actually only 5. He is very athletic and active.He is slender and his coat is short but will fill in with some great food.

He has had his shots, been chipped, is heart worm negative.

Joey is a 3.5 year old who was sent to us from Texas because he got really upset with storms. They figured we have fewer storms. 🙂

He is doing great and is romping with the others who are here. He hasn’t been troubled by storms and we think he is a fabulous guy. You can see the difference in his eyes since he is here. He is a very funny dog.

I would like to see Joey go to a family that has someone home during the day.

Tito is a 7 year old very sweet and mellow red Golden that came up from Carlsbad. Many of you know that we love and cherish the Carlsbad dogs 🙂

Tito was living in a family that had some medical issues and they were not able to keep him. They surrendered him to us and he just fit right in. Loves the other dogs, loves being with a family and ir really relaxed and social.

He is a sweetheart.

Loki is actually darling – way cuter than this picture. He is a year old. And he actually has a beautiful tail, he is just holding in for this shot.

He is sweet, funny, loving and learning how to be a house dog.

Loves other dogs, loves people, wants to learn. He has had his shots and is chipped.

George is an 18 month old blond, big boy. The vet and I think he is a Golden/Pyrennes cross which makes for a nice combination. He is strong and athletic. He likes other dogs, likes to play. He is affectionate. Needs some training. He is a typical teenager who needs to have a lot of exercise.

This dog will NOT do well in a home with a small yard or with just having walks. He needs to have space to run.

He is neutered, chipped and has had all his shots.

Lilly clearly is not a Golden Retriever :). She is a little over a year old. She was in the Valencia shelter, absolutely terrified. She was slated to be euthanized. I thought she was cute. It took a month for her to be willing to come out of the kennel. She was scared. She has made great progress.

She is chipped and has had her shots. She will do really well with someone willing to be patient with her. She is cautious and likes to watch. She is part Border Collie and Part Heeler. She runs really fast even though she has short legs, LOL. She likes to go walking. And likes to play with toys.

Noelle is a 5 year girl whose family moved to ABQ to settle into a retirement community. The husband died and caring for an active big dog was more than the wife could handle.

She is spayed, chipped and eager to please. Needs so training on leash walking but wants to please. Likes other dogs (she has been with 4 here) although sometimes she is edgy with girl dogs. She is a funny combination of rough and tumble and cautious.
