Adopted

Princess Sitting1

Princess is a little sweetie. She is about 8 months. She was found as a stray. She is loving and very high energy.
Likes kids, likes people and needs training. She LOVES carrying around toys. She is a little gem. Here is a pictures of her before we got her.

Princess Shelter

After being fostered by Suzanne Blanchard, Ellie went home today with Joe and Sheila . She will have a doggie brother, Marcus, a black standard poodle. This is the first dog who came from Las Cruces and went to someone in Las Cruces.
Ellie was an owner release at our local animal shelter. Her owners turned her in because they could not afford to feed her.

She is a beautiful and loving dog. I’m glad I was able to get her out of the animal shelter quickly. Dr. Beth, the new director, e-mailed me right when she came in.
Jackie

Angel

Angel is about 2. She was abandoned at the West Side Dump and then taken to the Shelter. This picture is her *mug shot*.
We got her out, took her to the groomer and are getting to know her. She is not experienced in the car and gets car sick. She is very, very sweet. Seems to like other dogs. We are just getting to know her. Our best guess is that she was left outside to fend for herself. There is a lot to work with here but it will take some time to bring her around. Her coat is brittle and she needs to put on some weight. She is looking for someone who will nurture her.

Buddy

Buddy Toy

Buddy is really a sweet boy. Buddy is a 4-5 year old male.He came to us in March. Buddy loves adults and children. He is most happy with a toy in his mouth. He is not sure about male dogs but he likes my female. He has not yet been neutered because he came to us with heartworm. He has been successfully treated and is recuperating beautifully.

Adoption update: Buddy has found a new home. They are retired school teachers who live way down south in Columbus NM.They just lost their golden and want a new one.Their dogs go everywhere with them including Alaska.

Brandon and pal

Here is his foster mother’s report. We are just getting to know this boy.

Branden is a three year old golden retriever. He weighs about 70 – 80 lbs. He has a beautiful head–like a show dog. He is very mellow and just wants to be with people. He loves to take walks, is good in the house or outdoors. He doesn’t bark much. He gets along well with our pesky 15 month male Porty and our 5 year old golden girl (on left). We were told he is good with children. Branden doesn’t pull on the leash, can sit and shake hands. He came from the dog shelter in Grants. We were told he is aggressive with food around other dogs (he doesn’t beg) so we have been feeding him separately with no problems. He settled into our house very nicely and follows me around, everywhere I go.

Call Patty at 275-9481 if you would like to meet him.

Gracie 1

Gracie 2

Gracie is 10 or 11. She is good with cats and dogs, although she is very possessive of toys. She is very mellow, quiet. She is house broken.
Because of the possessiveness, she might be best in a loving home as the only dog.

Bentley and Oakley

Bentley is 4 y.o. and Oakley is 5 y.o. They have been raised together since they were puppies. We would like to adopt them to a home together. They are indoor dogs. They love people and other dogs. They both need exercise more regularly. These are very sweet dogs.

Wonderful news!! Both have been adopted in a VERY loving home.

Maddie is a 10 year old purebred golden. My parents had her mom and dad until they passed away. In a word, she is gentle. She loves to be right next to us and would not hurt a fly. Our next door neighbor has a 1 year old and she loves to sit while he pets her and tries to pull on her ears.
She is perfectly house trained and NEVER has accidents. Maddie is smart and minds on or off the leash. She is so fun to walk with and very spunky. She loves other dogs and people. She grew up with her brother and father on lots of land. She has all her recent shots and is spayed. Basically she is a perfect companion for someone who needs a loyal, mild mannered, and furry friend. She has no health problems and is a good eater. I love her very much and will miss her but know she needs to go to a good home with someone who has the time and space for her.
Maddie

Maya is a very big Golden Retriever and will be 2 yrs old in March. She was originally found at the El Paso Animal Control when she was 3 months old by an Air Force family stationed at Holloman AFB. As she grew, they believed that she was a Golden and sighthound mix
because of her long face and legs. Out of curiosity, they did a DNA test but it came back with only Golden Retriever.

Maya is a very loveable, goofy and friendly girl. She gets along very well with other dogs and loves both kids and adults. Her family had a 5 yr old little that she loved to wrestle and play tag and fetch with. Maya grew up with cats. She played with one of them all the time and the other she knew to leave alone. Maya loves chewing on bones but needs the ones made for super chewers. She has never chewed on anything else and is a perfect lady inside the house except that she needs to be kept out of the kitchen when cooking because her nose can reach the counter tops. She loves to follow her family around the house. Her family kenneled her during the day while they were at work and at bed time.

Maya is used to not being allowed on furniture. Maya knows “sit”, “down”, “stay”, “come”, “shake”, “other paw”, “sittin’ pretty”, “hugs”, “go get it” (fetch), “drop it” (ball), “inside” (kennel), “outside”, “go potty” and “hup” (into the car). As a puppy, she attended a Puppy Playschool every weekend and also completed an 8 week agility course. Maya loves to go for walks, play with her friends at the local Bark Park and take baths. She doesn’t mind going to the vet or the groomers. She was spayed by animal control at 3 months, is microchipped and up to date on shots. Her family is completely heartbroken that they have to find her a new home but they are military and have orders to move to Germany.
