RangerFullBody

Ranger is a one year old male. He is a goofy puppy who loves to play, run around and have fun. This also means he loves to chew things and rip up papers, LOL. He likes other dogs.

He has had all his shots, is neutered and microchipped. He loves learning new things and will do beautifully with people who are willing to give him some training.

Lawson is a 2 year old, male Golden Retriever Mix. I placed him as a puppy and met his mother who was a Chocolate lab and his dad who was a golden. So he *looks* more labby, but his temperament is more golden if that makes sense.

he was raised in a family with small children and loves kids. He likes other dogs although gets bored with small dogs leaping on him. Loves to go walking, and is learning to like going in the car. We have been doing clicker training with him which he LOVEs. He is afraid of balloons. He likes being with him people and he is house trained.

He is a very nice dog.

he has a chip, has has his shots and has been neutered.

Buddy

This gorgeous boy is about 2. He is strong, athletic and loving life. When he arrived, he came with another dog and knew nothing about dog social life. Now he plays with the pack and is funny and warm. He is very affectionate and loves attention.

We are teaching him basic skills like leash walking and recall. He loves being trained, so if you are willing to work with him, he will be a super star. This dog will need a lot of exercise, not just a daily walk.

He has been neutered, has had all his shots.

So we have another one of these tiny *goldens*.. She is VERY people oriented.

She is a 30 pound little ball of energy. If you want a running companion, she’s your girl. she is about 18 months. She, like her cousins, is brilliant, athletic and willing to learn anything. No digging, no jumping fences, just ready for a new home. She is also really, really smart, so if you have ever thought of doing agility with a dog, this would be a winner.

Email me if you want to meet her. Make sure I have your application here

Nugget2Nugget Nugget is a 2 year old affable goofball. He likes everyone. He likes other dogs and gets along with everyone. He licks Logan’s face when he walks by.

He is willing, enthusiastic, energetic and LOVES to learn. He needs training but will flourish if you get your clicker and work with him. He is a great dog.

Mr. Raggs is a one year old Golden Retriever Husky Cross. He is exuberant, loves people, loves children and life.He has been living with 3 other dogs ranging from a tiny Pomeranian to a giant Mastiff. He has lived with a cat and gets along with the cat just fine. His major downfall is his love of chickens :). HIs family got him as a companion for their grandmother. The little fluffball became an athletic teenager and had to go back to life with the family. Family raises chickens so they called us at rescue to see if we might help him find a new home.

he is housetrained, neutered, chipped, has had all his shots, is on heartworm meds and is set to go. He is a real sweetheart and will make a great family dog!

email kathleen@radiantrecovery.com if you would like to meet him.

Buddy was an owner surrender. They had contacted us because they said the dog was injured and they could not afford to take him to the vet. We agree to accept him. Basically, the dog’s front teeth had been ripped from the bone so the entire root was exposed.

When the owner came, he said that this injury had happened in September. The dog was shaking so hard he could barely stand. It was clear to me that he was in severe pain. I had the guy sign him over to us and got himn into the vet the next morning. Their evaluation showed that in fact 3 teeth were broken off, several others were broken, his eye had a severe injury and he appeared to have a number of older injuries to his leg and back.

When he arrived, Buddy hit the deck and stayed their crouching in the corner. The owner said he kept running away and I am not surprised. The vet reconstructed his jaw IMG_0442 and I got to work teaching him that he would not be hurt again. I hand fed him special food and spent a lot of time with him. The light came back in his eyes. He started rolling in the grass and kicking. I brought over another young boy and the two of them were dashing around being dogs.

We asked Colorado if they could help with the expenses and they graciously offered to accept him into GRRR. They had a person down her for the holidays and she was able to transport him up there for a new home. Here is her report

Okay, so I hope you don’t hate the new name, Nelson. We figured he had a new life and needed a new name – he certainly was not previous owners ‘buddy’ from what I heard from Kathleen.

He rode in the car like a champ and didn’t want to get very far from me when I stopped for a break – just wanted back in the car so we pushed through and had an uneventful 6.5 hour ride to Golden. He has done well here with our dogs. They are very well adjusted and socialized and he is learning its okay to be happy and carefree. We have almost 3 acres for them to run around on and take them out to the back field a couple of times a day for exercise. This morning they were making snow angels. He has an endearing habit of coming in between my legs from behind and sticking close by. He has such a cute expression and I can’t wait to see more of his charming personality evolve. He will see our vet and the eye doctor as soon as we can get him in.

Will keep in touch – thanks for your help getting him to GRRR!!

I will be moving this to the adopted and success story pages but wanted to let you share first.

Kathleen

Kelly

Kelly is 6 year old female who was given to the shelter right after giving birth to puppies. They used her as a breed dog and then gave her away. She is the nicest girl. Loving and wants to lie on the couch …if you are not so active and want a mellow dog, Kelly will be ideal.

She is also playful, funny and affectionate.

Email me to meet her…radiantkd@mindspring.com

freckles1

Freckles is a Golden lab mixed with a little something to give him freckles.

When Freckles first arrived he was terrified of the world and just hid in the closet. Now he is one of the pack. He is shy but loves being around dogs and people. He would be especially happy to be in a home with a female Golden. He loves walking on a leash. He is sort of a couch potato dog who is totally happy taking an afternoon nap.

Nice dog!

He sort of looks like Andrew Wyeth’s lab.51rsHEva2LL
