Dodge and Cody are the first two campers in the Fat Dog Club. They are both big boys. Dodge came in at 98 pounds, Cody and 116. When I took Cody to the vet, all they did was talk about his weight. I said, *Hold on this is a great boy. He is loving, funny, athletic, obedient and responsive. Why are you just looking at his size?* It just happens that I am teaching a class on attitudes towards the *large*

I decided that I am going to run a Fat Dog Camp for these two. We shall see. We will do some clicker training, some weight lifting, some walking, and some leaping and bounding around together. They love dogs, they love people, they love life, and they love to eat, lol. They get to do all that except the uncontained eating part.

These two are NOT up for adoption yet. They are going to be at camp for a while. I want to do a little pilot study on rehabilitation of the fat dog issue. If you would like to be part of the work out plan and take someone walking, let me know. Or if you would like to work on clicker training with green beans, that would be good too.

I will keep you up to date on their progress.

Shelby is an Anatolian Shepherd cross. One of our volunteers found her and asked me if we might find her a home.

Shelby is very athletic and can go running with you. She is funny and playful although a little bit aloof at first. She is VERY loyal and stands by the people she loves. She loves to go walking and hiking. And she is a guardian dog.

She is about 5, has had shots, is spayed and is set to go. Email me if you would like to learn more about her.

Henry is a little over a year. He was found as a stray and no one claimed him. He is very sweet, have a loving temperament. We think someone must have worked with him as a show dog since he has the *prance*. We have had him neutered and chipped and given him all this shots. He just needs a little fattening up.

He loves to play ball, to leap around and be a teenager. He loves people and other dogs. He is a good boy.

Rosie is another one of our little *minature* Goldens from Carlsbad. She is 8 months old. When she arrived she was terrified and had not ever been out of a crate. She has been in rehab here for a month and is now a fiesty puppy who races around the yard, digs holes, throws toys in the air and loves life.

The shelter called me and said *e have this old dog who is stinky, matted, has a cataract in one eye, has terrible teeth and is slated to be euthanized. She is terrified and is crouched in the back of the cage shivering.* Of course I said we will take her 🙂

Took her to get washed. My two little volunteers brushed and brushed her. Took her to the vet who extracted 12 teeth and gave us some ointment for her eye. We put her on fish oil and joint response and she is loving, funny and romping around in the yard with the young ones. This is one grateful dog!

How old is she? Don’t really know. Maybe 12 or 13. And I know that most people are not interested in these old ones. But I can tell you that she is an incredible girl. I adore her. Maybe you would like to do a loving thing for a precious old dog.

let me know. kathleen@radiantrecovery.com

Lela is a golden retriever mix. I think maybe husky because she *talks* a lot. She is about 7 and was found on the reservation with a chain around her neck and dragging a post behind her. She was placed in a home that can no longer keep her because the wife didn’t want a dog to disturb her meditation. She loves people, is grateful. Loves to ride in the car, go on walks and be part of the family. She is affectionate and likes to lean.

Lela deserves a forever home where she can settle in and just enjoy the afternoon sun.

Emma3

Emma is a 5 month old Golden who was given up by her owner who didn’t have time for her. When she arrived, she was so traumatized, she would not come out of her crate. She is learning how to be a dog and is totally a puppy. She collects toys and stuff and brings it back to her crate.

She will be a small dog. She is housebroken and loves other dogs but is still VERY skittish with people. She needs some patience and tender loving but has darling energy.

email kathleen@radiantrecovery.com

Emma has been adopted by a family who is experienced in clicker training and has worked with dogs coming from a similar background.
